What data does Costiq keep?

We need data from you because of contractual agreements between Costiq and you, such as your purchase of our product or your right to a warranty. In addition, we want to provide our customers with the best possible, personalized service. We use your data in the following cases:

  • Ordering & pre-order
  • Delivery
  • Return
  • Contacting our customer service
  • Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • Visiting our website
  • Account

Who has access to your data?

We only pass on your data to other parties if it is really necessary for our services. These parties are: delivery partners, suppliers, product support, payment partners, trade information agencies, IT service providers and parties who collect our reviews. After all, our delivery partner needs to deliver your order to the correct address. Parties such as data management platforms, media and advertising agencies and research firms come into the picture as soon as we want to give you personal advice or show you targeted advertisements, for example based on your interest in certain products. In suspicious situations, we are required to share customer data with government agencies.

The parties who receive access to your data from us may only use it to provide you with a service on Costiq's behalf. We never sell your data to third parties.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not store and use your data longer than necessary. Then we delete all data off we use your data anonymously, because we need certain data for internal analysis and reporting such as the value of your order.

We maintain the following deadlines:

 

  • We delete recorded telephone conversations by default after 30 days unless we have a legal obligation to keep a conversation longer.
  • We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. After that period, we only use your data anonymously, for internal reporting purposes.
  • The tax authorities require us to keep our records with your billing, payment and order information for 7 years After that, we only use anonymous data for internal reports.
  • If you have signed up for the newsletter or consented to receive personalized messages, we keep that consent for 5 years Also, if at any point you decide you no longer want to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we keep the withdrawal of your request. We do not retain the emails you receive from us for more than 60 days. After that period, we only use your data anonymously, for internal reporting purposes.

 

What are your rights?

  • Of course, you remain in charge of your data. Would you like to access your personal data free of charge and receive a copy? Or would you like to change your data, delete it, restrict its use or adjust your e-mail wishes? No problem. You can do this yourself in your account. Or you can let us know by mail or e-mail. This way you can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes.
  • Unsubscribing from the newsletter is a snap. You can do it yourself in your account or via the link at the bottom of the newsletter itself.
